What is a modem? What are different types of modem?
Introduction :
All of us who use the Internet have heard the name modem. Especially those who use the Internet on a computer or laptop are more familiar with the term modem. So in today's article we will discuss about modem ie what is called modem? Modem usage rules? What is the function of modem? Difference between wifi modem and normal modem etc.

What is Modem:
Modem is a hardware network device. Which helps to convert digital signal to analog and analog signal to digital signal. Computers, laptops or mobile devices can be connected to the Internet using modems. Due to the touch of modernity, the demand for modem is decreasing to a large extent. While there is a demand for it especially in rural areas, modem users are rare elsewhere. Since the advent of WiFi, users have reduced the use of modems.
What is a modem and what is the function of a modem:
Have you already learned about the modem, now tell me what the function of the modem is? Because modem converts digital signal to analog and analog signal to digital signal. Therefore, you need to know what is the meaning of digital signal and analog signal? Digital signals and analog signals are the means of data transfer. Let's know the details.
Digital signal:
The medium of data transfer through bits is called digital signal. As all computer work is done through binary. And the unit of binary is called bit. Computer cannot understand what we input into computer. Because computer understandable language is binary. So the computer performs the task by converting whatever we input into binary.
Analog Signal:
Data in the form of frequency
The medium of transfer is called analog signal. If we take the medium of speech as an example, then it can be called an analog signal. Because it is not transferred in digital signal i.e. bit form. The medium of mobile communication is called analog signal because it is transferred according to frequency.
How Modem Works:
Modem works through analog signal and digital signal. We have already discussed digital signals and analog signals. Hope this should be understandable to everyone how modem works.
How many types of modems:
There are 2 types of modems.
They are mentioned below:
Internal Modem
External Modem
Internal Modem: (Internal Modem):
The internal modem is setup inside the computer. It resides within the computer's motherboard. Which helps to connect to the internet.
External Modem:
Internal modem is completely opposite. It is connected to the outside of the computer. To use its connection line between USB ports.
Difference between WiFi Modem and Modem:
Modem: Modem works as a kind of computer/laptop SIM. It looks like a pen drive. You can use the internet by inserting the SIM card and connecting it to the USB port of the computer/laptop.
WiFi Modem:
By now you know how modem works. What we mean by WiFi modem! It seems that unlimited data can be used. No it's not like that WiFi modem will basically give you the same benefits as a WiFi router i.e. a router has many users, a WiFi modem can have 10-12 users. Again, you can use this modem not only on a computer or laptop, but also on a mobile phone, through the WiFi signal of the mobile phone. It looks like a pen drive.
SIM must also be used in WiFi modem.
Note: WiFi Modem and Modem 2 (External Modem)
have to take MB in modem:
Yes, internet is more You can't use free.
Modems have SIMs, so you must, You have to take the package of MB on SIM.
Which package will you take, You can take the package as you like as take on mobile. Then what is the benefit With the modem?
Not everyone has the same needs.
You don't need anyone else to be there needs.
The last thing: what is the modem?
I hope that I have benefited by revealing a little knowledge about what is modem, what is the function of modem, how does modem work, what are the types of modem and the price of modem.
