What is Modem:

 Modem is a hardware network device. Which helps to convert digital signal to analog and analog signal to digital signal. While there is a demand for it especially in rural areas, modem users are rare elsewhere. Since the advent of WiFi, users have reduced the use of modems.

External Modem

Internal Modem: (Internal Modem):

The internal modem is setup inside the computer. It resides within the computer's motherboard. Which helps to connect to the internet.

External Modem:

Internal modem is completely opposite. It is connected to the outside of the computer. To use its connection line between USB ports.

Difference between WiFi Modem and Modem:

Modem: Modem works as a kind of computer/laptop SIM. It looks like a pen drive. You can use the internet by inserting the SIM card and connecting it to the USB port of the computer/laptop.

WiFi Modem: 

By now you know how modem works. What we mean by WiFi modem! It seems that unlimited data can be used. No it's not like that WiFi modem will basically give you the same benefits as a WiFi router i.e. a router has many users, a WiFi modem can have 10-12 users. Again, you can use this modem not only on a computer or laptop, but also on a mobile phone, through the WiFi signal of the mobile phone. It looks like a pen drive. 

SIM must also be used in WiFi modem.
